Earthquakes are one of the deadliest natural disasters that brings havoc and destruction across the affected region. 21st century has witnessed some of the most terrible earthquakes that claimed lives of millions of people. Here are some of them:
Afghanistan Earthquake, 2025
An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 struck the villages in Kunar province near Jalabad and claimed the lives of 800 people till now. At least 3,500 people were injured.

Earthquake in Indian Ocean, 2004
In 2004, an earthquake of magnitude 9.1 triggered a tsunami in 14 countries, including India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Indonesia. It resulted in the death of approximately 2,80,000 people.

Haiti Earthquake, 2010
Port-au-Prince was struck by a missive earthquake of magnitude 7.0 on January 12, 2010, claiming the lives of at least 2,20,000 people. It is known to be one of the most catastrophic events in the Caribbean.
