PGIMER gears up for 10th Annual research Day celebrations

The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) is set to celebrate its 10th Annual Research Day on February 3, 2024, showcasing the institute’s dedication to research excellence in medical education.

Prof. Vivek Lal, Director of PGIMER, emphasised the institution’s commitment to cutting-edge research, stating that PGIMER has been a leader in healthcare research since 1952. The faculty has contributed over 34,000 research articles to various national and international journals, with an annual publication rate exceeding 2,100 research papers.
Dr. Rajiv Bahl, Secretary to the Government of India and Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research, will be the Chief Guest at the event. With over 30 years of experience in health research, his presence is expected to elevate the profile of the celebration.

Distinguished PGIMER luminaries, including Prof. Y.K. Chawla, Prof. V. Sakhuja, Prof. D. Behera, Prof. S.K. Jindal, Prof. A. Chakraborti, and Prof. Madhu Khullar, will be the Guests of Honour. The event will provide a platform for faculty members to showcase their best-published research papers from April 2022 to March 2023.

Approximately 400 faculty members from various departments will participate in poster discussions, and 15 outstanding innovative works will be presented during the event. Awards will be presented for the three best-published research papers in each category, recognizing excellence in surgical, medical, and basic sciences at different professorial levels. The event will commence at 9:30 am with a poster viewing session, followed by a program in the Bhargava Auditorium on various aspects of research in medical sciences.
