The Bihar Police have arrested Mahesh Pandey, a resident of Delhi, for allegedly sending a threat video to Independent MP Rajesh Ranjan, commonly known as Pappu Yadav. Pandey, who is a member of Yadav’s political party, reportedly confessed that he was offered money to issue the threat, aiming to prompt authorities to grant Yadav ‘Z’ category security.
Purnea Superintendent of Police Kartikeya Sharma stated that Pandey was apprehended in Delhi following technical surveillance. During interrogation, Pandey admitted to the crime and revealed that he had no actual links to any criminal gang.
The incident has raised concerns about the misuse of security protocols for personal gain. Authorities are investigating the matter further to determine the extent of the conspiracy and any additional individuals involved.
