Sanjeev Jain, the CEO and managing director of Parsvnath Developers, was apprehended by Delhi Police at Indira Gandhi International Airport following a dramatic 60-kilometre pursuit. Jain had fled his residence when officers arrived to arrest him on Saturday, prompting the chase that led to his capture.
The arrest followed a series of legal troubles related to a consumer complaint filed by Rajat Babbar in 2017. Jain had multiple outstanding warrants against him, including four non-bailable and one bailable warrant from the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. The latest non-bailable warrant, issued on July 18, 2024, had also gone unaddressed by Jain, according to the police.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Surendra Choudhary confirmed, “Jain was arrested on Saturday by the STF team of Shahdara at the IGI airport due to non-bailable warrants issued against him for failing to appear before the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.”
Jain, who resides in DLF Phase 2, Gurugram, has been with Parsvnath Developers for 32 years. Parsvnath Developers, established in 1984, operates across 37 cities and 13 states in India. Jain, who holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Bharti Vidyapeeth in Pune, attended Jain Khekra Inter College in Khekra, Uttar Pradesh, for his schooling. After his arrest, Jain was presented before the commission on Sunday.
