The Parivartan Sankalp Yatra, organized by the BJP, arrived in Sumerpur with a massive crowd of party workers. The yatra was delayed by about two hours but was welcomed enthusiastically by party workers. Youth workers carrying BJP flags lined the streets from Shivganj to Sumerpur and chanted slogans. At the Deendayal Circle, young workers showered flower petals as a gesture of welcome.
During a program organized on the Education Revolution platform, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the Central Jal Shakti Minister, stated that the Gehlot government in Rajasthan is engaged in distributing free blankets due to the fear of losing the upcoming elections. He criticized the Gehlot government for only indulging in politics regarding the Jawai Punarbharan Yojana (a scheme for rejuvenating water resources) and not focusing on real work. He expressed confidence that the BJP would form the government in the next elections, given the large crowd that had gathered during the yatra.
P.P. Chaudhary, the BJP MP, also addressed the gathering and emphasized that the upcoming government would be BJP’s. He criticized the Congress government for corruption and neglecting the needs of the people, especially women.
Joraram Kumawat, the Sumerpur MLA, mentioned that in the Rajasthan Assembly, he was ranked number one in raising the most issues. While some work has been done, the government has not fulfilled its major responsibilities. He also expressed his belief that the large crowds in the Parivartan Yatra indicate that the next government will be BJP’s.
