Renowned rapper Snoop Dogg has been named one of the final torchbearers for the Olympic flame during its last hours of its tour across France, leading up to the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Snoop Dogg’s involvement stems from his role as a sportscaster for NBC’s ‘Primetime in Paris’ show, hosted by Mike Tirico, as confirmed by Deadline. He will carry the Olympic flame during its penultimate leg in Saint-Denis, a suburb north of Paris known for hosting part of the Olympic Village, the Stade de France, and the new Olympic Aquatics Centre.

This significant event symbolizes the flame’s journey toward its final destination at the Olympic cauldron in the Tuileries Gardens, located in central Paris, where it will stay throughout the 2024 Olympics.

According to Deadline, other notable French personalities participating in the torch relay include rapper MC Solaar, actress Laeticia Casta, filmmaker Alice Diop, Paralympian Charles-Antoine Kouakou, and rugby player Abdelatif Benazzi. However, the identity of the final torchbearer remains undisclosed, heightening the anticipation for the concluding event.

The journey of the Olympic flame began with its arrival from Greece to France on May 8, celebrated with a lively ceremony in Marseille. Since then, the flame has traveled through various regions of France, embodying the Olympic spirit and generating excitement among spectators and participants alike, as reported by Deadline.

According to NBC’s official statement, Snoop Dogg will not only serve as a torchbearer but will also attend Olympic competitions, interact with athletes and their families, and immerse himself in Paris’s vibrant cultural scene, all of which will be documented as part of his comprehensive coverage of the games.
