Manu Bhaker became India’s first woman shooter to earn an Olympic medal, winning bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol event in the Paris Olympics.
Before Paris 2024, Indian shooters had won four medals in the Olympics, but no Indian woman had won one. In London 2012, rifle shooter Gagan Narang (bronze in men’s 10m air rifle) and pistol shooter Vijay Kumar (silver in men’s 25m rapid fire pistol) won medals.
