Ihsan Ali and Zahraa Ali allegedly tried to kill their daughter for refusing an arranged marriage with an older man. The incident occurred outside Timberline High School, where the teen had sought refuge.
Fox 13 Seattle obtained footage showing Ihsan pinning his daughter to the ground and choking her until she lost consciousness. The attack left witnesses, including the girl’s boyfriend and other students, horrified.
Josh Wagner, a passerby, mistook the scene for a student brawl until he saw Ihsan choking his daughter. He intervened, holding the father down until police arrived.
Amid the chaos, the teenager ran to the school office, yelling that her father was trying to kill her. The school immediately went into lockdown, barring the parents from re-entering.
The couple has been charged with attempted murder. Charging documents reveal the father’s repeated threats of honour killing, intensifying after the teen sought help from school authorities.
