In Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain, the Thahaka Sammelan, an annual event cherished by locals, added a unique twist this year. The event, which typically brings together people for fun and laughter, hosted a special food-themed celebration in response to the changing weather. Under the leadership of Thahaka Ustaad Dr. Mahendra Yadav from the esteemed Thahaka Sammelan family, the Deepawali Thahaka Milan Samaroh and Paani Puri Bhandara were organized. The event allowed both adults and children to enjoy free Paani Puri, making it a delightful gathering for Ujjain’s food lovers.

Notable attendees included women, dignitaries, and students from local schools and colleges, all of whom joined in the festivities. The highlight of the event was the challenge to break the world record of consuming 147 Paani Puri, set by Ankur Harare from Hyderabad. The winner, who earned a cash prize of Rs 10,000, was Manish Solanki from Ujjain, who managed to consume 97 Paani Puri, though no one surpassed the record. Writer Dheeraj Gome and Lalit Lulla secured second and third places, having consumed 74 and 83 Paani Puri, respectively.

Adding to the festive atmosphere were humorous poets who shared their wit and satire. International poet Ashok Bhati brought laughter with his unique style, while Kumar Sambhav captivated the audience with love songs. Poet Saurabh Chatak humorously highlighted the joys of eating Paani Puri with a lover, and Surendra entertained with his sarcasm. Young poet Rahul Sharma added a dose of humor with his cheerful mantra, while Dinesh Digvijay kept everyone laughing uncontrollably.

Dr. Mahendra Yadav, the host, also brought his own charm to the stage, combining humor and satire to deliver messages of unity and harmony in his unique language.
