Keeping the Lok Sabha elections in mind, Panchkula Police has announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for those who provide information about illegal liquor smugglers. The name and address of those providing information will be kept confidential by the police.
Police Commissioner Panchkula Shivas Kaviraj said that the code of conduct is in place in Haryana state in view of the Lok Sabha elections -2024. Black money and illegal liquor are very rampant during elections. District Panchkula shares its border with Chandigarh, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. The possibility of black money and illegal liquor being smuggled from these states in view of the elections cannot be ruled out.
