The Punjab Government led by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann stands fully committed to the upliftment of Palledars who are an important part of the economic structure of the State and play a great role in ensuring the successful Wheat and Paddy season.
These views were expressed by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak here today at the Anaaj Bhawan in the presence of the Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar while chairing a meeting with the Joint Palledar Mazdoor Union, Punjab.
On various demands raised by the Union, the Food Minister said that for the State Government, the labour force is always the first priority. The sincerity of the government towards this section of the society can be gauged from the fact that the condition of experience for Palledars has been waived in respect of carrying loading & unloading work and the time limit of revising the Mandi Labour Charges has been set as one year instead of earlier 3 years, after taking up the issue with the Union Government.
The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak and Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar on the occasion assured the Unions that its justified demands would be taken up at the appropriate level and efforts would be made to resolve them.
Among others present on the occasion included Secretary Expenditure Muhammad Tayyab, Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Puneet Goyal, Additional Secretary Labour Department Dr. Sona Thind, Additional Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Dr. Anjuman Bhaskar.
