The Anti-Human Trafficking Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Lahore achieved a significant breakthrough on Monday by apprehending two suspects, including a woman, allegedly involved in visa fraud and human trafficking, as per ARY News.
Usman Ahmed and his wife were captured from different locations in Lahore on charges related to orchestrating a visa scam and assisting individuals in obtaining visas for overseas travel, according to an FIA spokesperson.
The suspects reportedly took large sums of money from victims by promising to help them obtain visas, particularly a student visa for their son to Canada, which amounted to millions of rupees.
In a troubling development, it was revealed that Usman Ahmed disappeared after taking PKR 1.1 million from one victim, as per FIA sources. Additionally, Usman’s wife is implicated in another case where she allegedly received PKR 500,000 from another victim with the promise of securing a visa for travel to Saudi Arabia. However, investigations have revealed that the suspects did not fulfill their promises and subsequently evaded authorities.
In response to these concerning findings, the FIA spokesperson announced the arrest of the suspects and vowed to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter, as reported by ARY News.
