In an unexpected event in Gujranwala, Pakistan, a beggar family organized an extravagant feast for around 20,000 people, spending a massive 1.25 crore Pakistani rupees (over 5 crore Indian rupees). The lavish gathering was held to mark the 40th day of their grandmother’s death. The family arranged for 2,000 vehicles to transport guests, which caught the attention of local millionaires and sparked curiosity.
Held near Rahwali Railway Station, the feast attracted attendees from across Punjab. The menu included traditional dishes like siri paye, murabba, and various meat offerings for lunch. Dinner featured tender mutton, naan matar ganj (sweet rice), and several desserts, with 250 goats slaughtered to feed the crowd.

Videos from the event quickly went viral on social media, with many impressed by its scale. However, some raised doubts about how a beggar family could afford such an extravagant event. One user humorously commented, “Our Modiji feeds 80 crore beggars every month,” while another remarked, “Pakistan is a country of beggars.” Some users also pointed out the advantage of begging in Pakistan, with one saying, “It is a fact that in Pakistan, anyone who has learned the art of begging for food can never remain hungry!”
While the generosity of the family was praised by some, others questioned the source of their funds, given their claimed financial situation.
