PM Modi Visits Austria After 41 Years Since Indira Gandhi’s 1983 Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently arrived in Vienna from Moscow for a two-day visit to Austria. This visit is significant because Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Austria in 41 years, with the last visit being by Indira Gandhi in 1983.

During his stay, Modi attended a dinner hosted by Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer. At the dinner, Modi met with members of the Indian community in Austria. Chancellor Nehammer took a selfie with Narendra Modi and shared it on social media, writing, “Welcome to Vienna, PM @narendramodi! It is a pleasure and honor to welcome you to Austria. Austria and India are friends and partners. I look forward to our political and economic discussions during your visit!”

Modi thanked Nehammer for the warm welcome and expressed his excitement for the upcoming talks. He shared photos from his arrival and the dinner on social media, saying, “Landed in Vienna. Looking forward to the various programs in Austria including talks with Chancellor @karlnehammer, interactions with the Indian community and more.”
