US President Joe Biden is once again under scrutiny after he made a blunder while addressing an election rally in Wisconsin. On Friday, he vowed to beat his Republican rival Donald Trump “again in 2020” instead of saying 2024. While he quickly corrected himself, saying he would do it “again in 2024,” a video of him has triggered backlash and ridicule online.
Here’s what he said
“Well, let me say this as clearly as I can—I’m staying in the race. I’ll beat Donald Trump. I will beat him again in 2020,” the US president said before realizing his mistake during a campaign rally in Madison, Wisconsin. He immediately corrected himself, saying, “I am going to do that again in 2024.”
Biden’s video goes viral
Soon after The Spectator Index shared the video, netizens took the opportunity to take a dig at the Democratic Presidential Candidate. “I don’t know what he said, and I am not sure he knows either,” said one user. Meanwhile, another quipped, “The man is a time-traveller!!” One user further mocked Biden saying, “The old thing is gonna reverse, people are just going to get desensitized to it. This is so lower on the bar of what he’s done tha tthis a best case scenario for a mess up.”
