Bushra Bibi, the spouse of Imran Khan, has been granted temporary bail by the District and Sessions Court until January 13 in connection with the protest on November 26, as reported by ARY News.

Judge Shabeer Bhatti oversaw her bail requests. Bushra Bibi appeared in court with her legal team to apply for interim bail concerning four cases filed at the Tarnol police station and three at the Ramana police station. The court authorized her bail after she submitted surety bonds amounting to Rs. 50,000 for each separate case.

Earlier, on December 21, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi approved her interim bail in 32 cases, which is valid until January 13, as stated by her attorney. Bushra Bibi had requested bail for 32 cases, of which 23 were connected to the violence that occurred on May 9. She has now obtained interim bail for cases filed in Rawalpindi, Attock, and Chakwal.

Faisal Malik, her attorney, claimed that the charges against Bushra Bibi were driven by political motives and intended for retaliation. He noted that the former first lady had voluntarily surrendered to the ATC, with 23 of the cases having been filed in Rawalpindi alone, according to ARY News.

The protest initiated by the PTI started on November 24, calling for the release of Imran Khan. During this demonstration, PTI caravans traveled from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Islamabad, arriving at D-Chowk by November 26, where security forces conducted a late-night operation to disperse the protesters and conclude the demonstration.

In a related occurrence, PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram denounced the £190 million corruption charges against Imran Khan and his wife, labeling it as the “worst example of political victimization. ” Speaking at a news conference in Peshawar on November 23, Akram cautioned that the public would not stand for further injustice against Imran Khan.
