Authorities in 12 countries expelled 131 Pakistani nationals for various legal violations, including drug-related crimes, illegal entry, and employment breaches, as reported by the sources. Many individuals faced immediate deportation upon arrival due to their legal infractions.
Saudi Arabia and UAE Lead Deportations
Saudi Arabian authorities deported 74 Pakistani citizens for drug trafficking and violating employment agreements. Many workers left their jobs without prior notice, which led to their removal. Similarly, the UAE expelled several individuals for illegal entry, theft, and drug-related offences. In one instance, authorities denied a person entry upon arrival and sent them back to Pakistan immediately. Meanwhile, another individual faced deportation after being accused of attempting suicide.
Other Countries Also Expel Pakistani Nationals
Apart from Saudi Arabia and the UAE, several other countries, including Oman, Cambodia, Bahrain, Azerbaijan, Iraq, and Mexico, deported Pakistani citizens. Furthermore, Mauritania and Senegal expelled two individuals suspected of human smuggling.
Investigations Underway for Some Deportees
Upon their return, authorities handed over 16 deportees to the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle for further investigation. Meanwhile, six individuals were transferred to law enforcement agencies in Larkana, Kalat, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, and Rawalpindi for additional inquiries.
Immigration Officials Block 86 Passengers from Leaving Pakistan
During the same period, immigration officials at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi stopped 86 passengers from traveling due to various reasons. Notably, 30 Umrah pilgrims could not board their flights because they lacked advance hotel reservations and financial proof for their trip. Additionally, authorities denied boarding to seven young passengers holding student visas for Cyprus, the UK, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan.
Moreover, officials barred passengers with tourist visas to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Azerbaijan, Malawi, Congo, Bahrain, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey, and Zimbabwe from traveling. Some individuals blacklisted from working in Qatar, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia were also prevented from boarding their flights.
