A day after an Islamabad court ordered the country’s former prime minister to be arrested in the Toshakhana case, local media reported that on Tuesday, armoured police trucks could be seen pulling up outside Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s mansion in Lahore.
The Dawn cited a top Islamabad police official as stating that police intended to arrest the former premier and that there was a significant police presence outside Khan’s Zaman Park mansion. The correspondent for the daily reported that a large group of PTI employees had assembled outside Zaman Park, and the Mall Road was blocked. Authorities were using water cannons and tear gas to disperse PTI supporters as they slowly drew closer to the house behind an armoured car. Moreover, supporters could be seen throwing rocks towards the cops.

According to Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence’s deputy inspector general (DIG) (Operations) Shahzad Bukhari, authorities had assembled there to arrest the PTI leader because there were active arrest orders for him.
The police official, however, was reticent to discuss the specifics of the incident in which Imran was targeted by Islamabad police. Of course, we are aware of the situation, so why should we talk about [such] specifics? said the Pakistani newspaper.
A day after an Islamabad district and sessions court once more issued arrest warrants for Imran after he repeatedly skipped hearings in the Toshakhana case, the police chose not to comment on the case in which it was acting against the PTI leader.Police were also instructed by the court to bring the former premier to court by March 18.
