Sharif plans to present Pakistan’s viewpoint on these critical matters during his speech at the 79th UNGA on September 27 in New York. “I will present Pakistan’s perspective to the world, advocate our interests, and strengthen international partnerships,” he posted on X.

Last year, Pakistan emphasized the Jammu and Kashmir issue at the UNGA, claiming that Kashmir is essential for peace between India and Pakistan. Interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Hag Kakar reiterated this stance, stating, “Kashmir is the key to peace between Pakistan and India,” while expressing a desire for peaceful relations with all neighboring countries.
India responded to these claims by asserting that for peace in South Asia, Pakistan must take three actions: stop cross-border terrorism, vacate Indian territories it occupies, and address human rights violations against minorities within its borders.
