Despite the Islamabad High Court delaying Imran Khan’s sentence in the Toshakhana case, the former Prime Minister will remain imprisoned, according to an ARY News report on Tuesday.
A special court in Islamabad on Tuesday ordered the Attock Jail authorities to detain the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief under judicial custody in the cipher case.
Notably, the decision came just hours after the IHC commuted Imran Khan’s three-year term in the Toshakhana case.
The special court directed jail officials to produce Imran Khan in connection with the cipher case on August 30 in a letter issued to the Attock jail superintendent.
“That accused Imran Khan Niazi s/o Ikramullah Khan Niazi r/o Zaman Park, Lahore is hereby ordered for judicial remand in case FIR mentioned above, who is already detained in district jail, Attock,” ARY News quoted the letter.
