In Punjab’s Lodhran district, a mentally and physically ill woman was raped by her relative in Pakistan.
As reported by Dawn, the incident happened when her family members were in the fields for cutting the graze.
The father of the victim Ramzan, also revealed, that the perpetrator came into the house and raped his daughter.
But when the woman shouted, the locals quickly reached the spot, but the perpetrator managed to run.
Later, the police arrested the perpetrator and registered the case under section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). Currently, the victim is undergoing medical examination. Reports Dawn.
Meanwhile according to the findings of sustainable Social Development Organisation, there has been a rise in the cases registered under sections 354 and 509 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which now stands at 10,201, marking a 14% rise in the cases, against 8,787 cases recorded in previous year.
