Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted on Saturday that the recently announced Interim Budget ensures the development of every section of society, reinforcing the government’s commitment to poverty eradication. Addressing a public gathering in Sambalpur, PM Modi stated, “The country’s new budget has come just two days ago. This budget further strengthens the policy following which 25 crore people of the country have come out of poverty in the last 10 years. The budget announcement is a guarantee of empowering the poor. Be it our youth, women, farmers, fishermen, this budget guarantees everyone’s development. Guarantee of fulfilling guarantees is the meaning of Modi guarantee.”

Highlighting the BJP-led government’s achievements in revolutionizing LED bulb usage, resulting in reduced electricity bills, PM Modi mentioned, “In the last 10 years, we provided electricity even to those villages which were in darkness even after the independence of the country. Now our effort is that the electricity bill of the poor of the country also becomes zero, and in this budget, a rooftop solar power scheme has been announced for 1 crore families.”

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Sambalpur and laid the foundation stone for projects worth over Rs 68,000 crore in Odisha. These projects aimed to boost the energy sector, including natural gas, coal, and power generation, along with key initiatives in road, railway, and higher education sectors. PM Modi underscored that these developments would benefit various sections of society in Odisha, providing employment opportunities for the youth.

Emphasizing the Central government’s commitment to transforming Odisha into an education and skill development hub, PM Modi noted the positive impact of modern educational institutes like IISER Berhampur and Bhubaneshwar’s Institute of Chemical Technology established in the last decade. He further highlighted the strengthening of the state’s role with the establishment of IIM Sambalpur as a modern management institute.
