ZERO SUM BUDGET: RAHUL GANDHI

The Opposition parties came down heavily on the Union Budget 2022-23 presented in Parliament by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday.

Taking to Twitter, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted: “M0di G0vernment’s Zer0 Sum Budget! Nothing for–Salaried class–Middle class–The poor and deprived–Youth–Farmers—MSMEs.”

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted: “Budget has zero for common people, who are crushed by unemployment & inflation. Govt is lost in big words signifying nothing-a Pegasus spin Budget.”

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said: “It’s a completely disastrous budget. The ‘achhe din’ (good days) promised to us eight years ago is still not delivered. The mirage of ‘achhe din’ has been pushed even farther away.”

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav tweeted in Hindi: “All the businesses in India have come to a halt… due to historic recession, lakhs of people have lost their jobs… Income of people has reduced… Because of the pandemic, savings in banks have come down… Now, another budget comes to pick the pocket of the common man… With this, the sad era of BJP is beginning to end! Now UP people say that they don’t want BJP anymore.”
