Panic gripped the area near Bhoura Cut, close to the Green Land School on Jalandhar Bypass Road, when late at night, the body of a missing young woman was found in suspicious circumstances.
The woman had marks of injuries on her head and other parts of her body, indicating a critical condition. As soon as it was discovered, the police from Salem Tabri station reached the spot.
The police took possession of the body and sent it for a post-mortem examination.
The deceased young woman has been identified by the police as Simpi, 20 years old, residing in Salem Tabri. It is reported that Simpi had gone missing from her home just a day ago, and her family members were searching for her. As soon as they found the body, they identified it at the civil hospital.
According to available information, she was mentally disturbed and had left home due to certain reasons. The police mention that only after the post-mortem report will the cause of death be determined, whether it resulted from a vehicular accident or an assault. Investigation officials mentioned that they are also checking footage from nearby CCTV cameras.
