Young Garima , receives National Children’s Award for educational

Garima, a resident of Mahendragarh, Haryana, has been honoured with the Prime Minister’s National Children’s Award by President Draupadi Murmu. The 9-year-old Garima Yadav has been providing education to children living in slums from the age of 3, along with providing study materials for them.

Garima is a visually impaired girl who runs a school named “Sakshar Pathshala” through her efforts, providing education to underprivileged children. She has distributed study materials to around 1000 poor children. Garima’s inspiration comes from her father, Dr. Narendra, who is a teacher in Delhi. Garima is currently 9 years old and studies in the fourth grade. She is different from ordinary children as she has been visually impaired since childhood, but her determination is remarkable.

She can even operate a laptop with ease. Born in a private hospital in Narnaul, her family resides in the Navdi village, located about 8 kilometers ahead of Mandi Ateli. Garima’s father, Dr. Narendra, works as a teacher in Delhi and has been involved in social work from the beginning. He used to teach children in slums, which inspired Garima to teach these children and provide study materials. Garima expressed her desire to teach these children and distribute study materials to her father, after which she started teaching children in the slums of Narnaul, Ateli, and Rewari over time. Garima has already distributed study materials to about 1000 children.

The villagers in Navdi are proud of Garima’s achievements, stating that her success brings honor not only to her parents but also to the village, district, and state. They appreciate Garima, who, despite being visually impaired, has achieved a significant milestone with her broad thinking.

Ashok Navadi, a villager, mentioned that even though Garima is visually impaired, her achievements are a matter of pride for the entire village. Garima has illuminated not only her parents’ names but also the name of the village, district, and state throughout the country. The villagers feel proud that Garima, despite her visual impairment, has achieved a significant position due to her great thinking.
