Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, has ordered officials to guarantee that the Ganga Motorway, which connects Meerut and Prayagraj, is timely finished by December 2024. The Chief Minister made this announcement after reviewing the development of the state’s industrial and defence corridors, as well as the status of ongoing motorway projects, during a high-level meeting.
The Ganga Expressway project starts from NH-334 near Bijauli village in Meerut district and ends at Prayagraj Bypass on NH-19 near Judapur Dandu village in Prayagraj. It passes through 12 districts, linking the eastern and western parts of the state, including Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareilly, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj. The state government plans to extend the expressway in the second phase, adding 110 km from Meerut to Tigri on the Uttar Pradesh/Uttarakhand border and 314 km from Prayagraj to Ballia.
