Due to snowfall in the mountains and northwest winds, there is a significant decrease in temperature, resulting in freezing cold in several districts of Haryana. The temperature in the state has dropped by 3.5 degrees compared to normal days, and around a dozen districts are experiencing severe cold. The minimum temperature in these districts has dropped below 6 degrees, forcing people to stay at home.
Additionally, due to a western disturbance, there are chances of a cloudy sky in some places in the state from December 21-22. In light of the dropping temperature, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for dense fog in more than a dozen districts until December. Providing more information, experts have mentioned that dense fog is expected in these cities in the morning and evening, posing difficulties for commuters and likely resulting in zero visibility in several districts. The increasing cold is expected to significantly impact routine life.
The 14 districts of Haryana where a smog alert has been issued include Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Gurugram, Nuh, Palwal, Faridabad, Sirsa, Fatehabad, and Jind. Furthermore, the weather is expected to undergo significant changes again in the next 48 hours in the state. Due to dense fog and cloudiness, the night temperature is likely to increase by 2 degrees, but by December 18th, it will again reduce to 3 degrees. Meteorologists state that the effect of cold in the mountains is being seen in the plain areas as well.
