XOOM IS HERO’S NEW SPORTY BETIN THE 110-CC SCOOTER SEGMENT

World’s largest manufacturer of two-wheelers, Hero MotoCorp, has fired a fresh salvo in the 110-cc scooter segment. The company is looking at redefining the scooter category and charting the next phase of its tech-enabled journey in the scooter segment, and for that it has launched the Xoom 110 in the market.

Hero says the key USPs of this new scooter are a contemporary design, supreme manoeuvrability, unmatched agility and extraordinary performance. It also claims the all-new Xoom has been developed with as many as 25+ patent applications.

DESIGN

The all-new Hero Xoom introduces a radical new futuristic design language. According to Hero it nimble and agile in traffic and will be robust even over tough terrain. The lighting package is the highlight here with the scooter getting LED Projector Headlamp, LED Tail Lamps, and industryfirst “HiCL-Hero intelligent cornering light”.

Bigger and wider tyres, diamond cut alloy wheels and integrated rear grip also add to the distinct character of the scooter. The HiCL illuminates the dark corner areas with a bright, clear light when the rider is taking a turn or heading into curves. The rider benefits from the illumination of the corners on the road, thereby ensuring safer riding at night. 

FEATURES

The Xoom, according to Hero is programmed with ‘XSens Technology’ which helps in improving the performance, durability, safety, reliability and fuel economy. In addition, the full digital speedometer with Bluetooth Connectivity provides call (Caller ID) and SMS updates, and key alerts, such as low fuel indicator, phone battery etc. Features such as the side stand engine cut off, boot light and mobile charger in front glove box add to the safety and convenience aspects. The scooter has a wheelbase of 1,300 mm, and it is 1,843 mm long, 717 mm wide and 1,118 mm tall. You get a ground clearance of 155 mms and a seat height of 770 mms.

ENGINE

The Hero Xoom comes with a 110cc BS-VI compliant engine producing a maximum power output of 8.05 bhp @ 7250 rpm and torque of 8.7 Nm @ 5750 rpm. It features brands’ now famous i3S technology (Idle StopStart System) which helps in better fuel efficiency.

For braking the scooter gets 190 mm disc on the front and 130 mm drum on the rear. The lower variants get drums at both ends. For suspension you get telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers on the front and unit swing with spring loaded hydraulic damper on the rear.

PRICES

The Hero Xoom is available in five colour options which you can choose depending on the variant you buy. While the Sheet Drum variant is available in Polestar Blue, the Cast Drum variant is available in Polestar Blue, Black & Pearl Silver White. The Cast Disc variant is available in Polestar Blue, Black, Sports Red and Matt Abrax Orange colour schemes.  

 Launched in three variants–Sheet Drum, Cast Drum and Cast Disc, Hero Xoom is available at an introductory price of Rs 68,599 (LX -Sheet Drum), Rs. 71,799 (VX – Cast Drum) and Rs. 76,699 (ZX – Cast Drum).
