Mia Goth, who rose to prominence with the release of ‘X and Pearl’ last year, has landed a Marvel project.
Mia has been cast in Marvel Studios’ ‘Blade,’ according to the Hollywood Reporter. Mahershala Ali plays Blade, the titular half-human, half-vampire who hunts vampires to avenge his late mother. Yann Demange, of ‘Lovecraft Country,’ will direct the film. The script was written by Micheal Starrbury.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Blade was introduced to the world in 1973 by comic book writer Marv Wolfman and artist Gene Colan in The Tomb of Dracula No. 10, and Wesley Snipes played Blade in a trilogy of films released by New Line in the 2000s.
The new ‘Blade’ was first revealed at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con. It is expected to be filmed in Atlanta. Goth is about to start filming MaXXXine, A24 and filmmaker Ti West’s third film in the X series, and will then move on to Blade in June. She recently appeared in Brandon Cronenberg’s horror film Infinity Pool, where she stole the show.
