The incident came to light when the rescue team from the ND RF (National Disaster Response Force) and volunteers from the social service organization Sahara Jan Seva reached the scene. The team successfully retrieved the body from the reservoir with the assistance of the Punjab Police’s PCR (Police Control Room) team, who promptly arrived at the location after being informed.
According to information provided by the volunteers of Sahara Jan Seva, they received information about a woman drowning in the Lake no. 3. Upon reaching the spot, they immediately notified the police, and the ND RF team was called in to assist in the recovery operation. The timely intervention of the joint rescue team ensured the retrieval of the body from the reservoir. Investigations into the reasons behind the woman’s decision to take such a drastic step are currently underway.
