According to a coordinator of Child Line, a woman from Barwani district left her two sons and two daughters on a road in front of MY Hospital in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on the pretext of bringing them food and then eloped with her lover.
The children, aged 2, 4, 6 and 8, were found alone on the road by people passing by, who informed the police. The police then contacted Child Line, who took custody of the children and placed them in a government child protection ashram.
After counselling, the children were handed over to the Child Welfare Committee. The woman will face action for abandoning her children.
