WHALE VOMIT WORTH RS 10 CRORE SEIZED IN LUCKNOW

In a bizarre incident that has come to light, four members of a gang have been arrested in Lucknow for smuggling whale vomit. During the raid, the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force found 4.12 kg of whale vomit in their possession that costs Rs 10 crore.

The sale of whale vomit is illegal under the Wildlife (Protection) Act of 1972. Whale vomit is a sought-after component of perfumes. Moreover, ‘whale vomit,’ also known as ‘grey amber’ and ‘floating gold,’ which is one of the strongest natural occurrences in the world.

Taking to Twitter, UPSTF tweeted, “On 05.09.2022, four members of a gang involved in smuggling of Ambergris banned under the Wildlife Protection Act were arrested from Gomtinagar Extension Area police station in Lucknow with 4.120 kg of Ambergris worth Rs. 10 crore.”

Earlier in July, whale vomit worth Rs 28 crore was spotted by a group of fishermen in Kerala. They gave it over to the local authorities and received praise from everyone.

Several people have been taken into custody for selling ambergris illegally this year. This solid, waxy substance is smuggled because it is more expensive than gold.

However, in the digestive system of sperm, whale vomit is used in cosmetics and medications.
