Western disturbance shatters 12-year record in Jodhpur

The western region has experienced a disturbance that has caused significant changes in the weather. As a result, the state has broken a new record of rainfall. In Jodhpur, the rainfall in November has not been as high in the past 12 years as it was on Sunday and Monday. Light to moderate rain continued on Tuesday in Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Shekhawati regions. Due to the rain, daytime temperatures may decrease by 4-8 degrees Celsius in the next two to three days.
On Tuesday morning, Jaipur experienced fog followed by drizzle. Meteorologists predict that this system will continue to affect the eastern parts of Rajasthan until Wednesday.
On Tuesday, clouds covered the sky in Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions. Meanwhile, dense fog was observed in Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur, and Kota divisions in the morning. Visibility remained low due to dense fog in several districts, affecting the sound of vehicles on the bypass.
The night temperature in Jaipur was recorded at 16.3 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature did not go above 23 degrees Celsius during the day.
In the last 24 hours, rainfall occurred in several places, including Kota, Baran, Alwar, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Chittorgarh, Churu, Pilani, along with Karauli, Tonk, Rajsamand, Dholpur, and Dausa. Kota received 24 mm of rainfall, marking the second-highest rainfall in the last 12 years. The highest rainfall in Kota was recorded at 48 mm in 2021.
Similarly, Jodhpur witnessed 14.6 mm of rainfall between Sunday 8 AM and Monday 8 AM, setting the record for the highest rainfall in the past 12 years. The previous record was in 1976 when Jodhpur received 23.6 mm of rainfall in November, which remains the highest rainfall record for the month.
In Karauli, 32 mm of rainfall was recorded, 24 mm in Sapotra, 27 mm in Shrimahavirji, 9 mm in Bundi, 11 mm in Nainwa, 16 mm in Keshavaraipatan, 16 mm in Uniara (Tonk), 25 mm in Hemargad (Bhilwara), 9 mm in Shakkargadh, 39 mm in Gilund (Rajsamand), 11 mm in Nathdwara, 15 mm in Baseri (Dholpur), and 10 mm in Sarmathura.
The director of the Jaipur Meteorological Center, Radheshyam Sharma, mentioned that there is a possibility of clouds lingering and light rain in some parts of eastern Rajasthan, including Bharatpur, Jaipur, and Kota divisions, over the next three to four days. In western Rajasthan, including Churu, Hanumangarh, and surrounding areas, there is a chance of light rain today and the weather is expected to remain dry from November 29. Additionally, dense fog is likely to persist in some places in the state in the coming two to three days, with maximum temperatures expected to be 4-8 degrees Celsius below average.
