Maharashtra Navnirman Sena supremo Raj Thackeray has allegedly received a threat letter amid the loudspeaker row. Raj Thackeray has received a letter threatening his life, according to MNS leader Bala Nandgaonkar. The letter is said to have been written in Urdu.
Yesterday, Bala met with Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil to inform him of the threat letter. “If anything happens to the MNS chief, we will burn Maharashtra,” he was later quoted as saying.
“I met with Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil today to discuss a threat letter I received regarding the azaan issue. Raj Thackeray is also threatened in the letter. His safety should be prioritized,” the leader added.
The news came just a day after Raj Thackeray warned state Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray about police action against MNS workers in connection with the loudspeaker row.
