In a rare moment, Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi was seen shaking hands with PM Narendra Modi in the well of the Parliament on Wednesday. Gandhi, known to be a staunch critic of the Prime Minister, was caught on camera walking up to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Om Birla to congratulate him on assuming the role of Lok Sabha Speaker for the second time. He then turned around and met PM Modi, shaking hands with him.
This uncommon moment is reminiscent of 2018 when during the debate on the No-Confidence Motion against the NDA government, the Gandhi scion famously crossed the aisle to hug PM Modi after his speech. Following the hug, the PM called Gandhi back, shook his hand, and exchanged a few words with him.
