Waqf Board completes historic project of shrine matting, ensures festival arrangements

Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board announced the successful completion of a comprehensive project to lay fresh matting at all major shrines in the region during the holy month of Ramadan. Chairperson Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi hailed this feat as a significant milestone, marking the first time such a project had been undertaken and completed solely by the Waqf Board using its own resources.

During her visit to Hazratbal Dargah and other shrines in Srinagar, Dr. Andrabi, accompanied by Waqf Board officers and staff, meticulously reviewed the arrangements made for the festival congregations. Expressing satisfaction with the completed project, she emphasized the importance of accountability in enabling the Board to undertake such initiatives for the welfare of the community.

Dr. Andrabi extended warm greetings to all on the occasion of Juma-tul-Vida of Ramadan and the upcoming Shab-e-Qadr festivals, underscoring the significance of these occasions in strengthening spiritual bonds and fostering inner purification. Addressing the media after the visit, Dr. Andrabi reiterated the Board’s commitment to ensuring a serene and upgraded environment for prayers during festivals throughout Jammu & Kashmir. She chaired a meeting to review the facilities provided by the Board at all managed shrines and mosques during the festival period. Highlighting the Board’s efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in its operations, Dr. Andrabi emphasized the importance of resisting corruption and implementing reforms for the public good. She expressed gratitude to the citizens of the Union Territory and the media fraternity for their support in this endeavor.
The completion of the shrine matting project and the proactive measures taken by the Waqf Board underscore its dedication to serving the community and enhancing the spiritual experience for worshippers across Jammu & Kashmir.

As the region prepares to celebrate the remaining days of Ramadan and the upcoming festivals, the Waqf Board remains committed to upholding its mandate of providing convenient and comfortable facilities for worshippers at all places of worship.
