Haryana Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta stated that he has identified seven concerns to transform Panchkula into an ideal city. To disseminate these concerns to the public, a walkathon will be organized on January 12, marking Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, with participation from over 5,000 youths.

Gupta shared this information during a press conference at PWD Rest House Sector-1 on Monday, emphasizing that Swami Vivekananda Jayanti is celebrated as Youth Day nationwide.

Sports Promotion Society Patron Vinod Mittal, President DP Soni, Vice President Jatindra Kumar Mahajan, General Secretary ND Sharma, Joint Secretary DP Singhal, Finance Secretary Virendra Malik, and member Yuvraj Kaushik were also present on the occasion.
The Assembly Speaker highlighted ongoing administrative efforts to address concerns such as drugs, pollution, plastic, stray cattle, stray dogs, encroachment, and slums in Panchkula. Nodal officers have been appointed for each concern. To implement these initiatives at the grassroots level, the Walkathon is being organized by the Sports Promotion Society, which has consistently encouraged youth participation in various sports activities over the past 12 years.

He announced that the walkathon will commence from PNB Sector-5 parking at 9 am on January 12, traversing through Bus Stand, Tawa Chowk, Anupam Sweets, 10-15 Chowk, and 9-16 Agrasen Chowk, concluding at PNB Sector-5 parking. The Walkathon aims for active participation from the District Administration, Municipal Corporation, NGOs, RWAs, and religious institutions.

Gupta explained that during the Walkathon, youths will wear T-shirts of different colors corresponding to the seven concerns, carrying placards to raise awareness about these issues. He mentioned that the road show organized in Panchkula on January 6 was the largest in the city’s history. Gupta expressed gratitude to BJP National President JP Nadda and Chief Minister Manohar Lal for selecting Panchkula for the road show.

He confidently stated that in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party will secure all 10 seats in Haryana, leading to the formation of the government at the Center for the third consecutive time under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Regarding the life consecration program of Shri Ram Lalla on January 22 in Ayodhya, Gupta urged all Panchkula residents to light at least five lamps, marking the end of a 550-year wait. He designated this day as the celebration of Badi Diwali.
