Voter Awareness Campaign Kicks Off with Mobile Awareness Vehicle in Panchkula

In Panchkula, the District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner, Sushil Sarwan, flagged off an awareness vehicle from the district secretariat to promote voter awareness. This vehicle will travel to every village in the district for a month to encourage voters to cast their votes.
After launching the voter awareness vehicle, he mentioned that every youth above the age of 18 should get their votes registered. Even those who have changed their place of residence should update their voting location.
In accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, a special summary revision campaign for the purification of voter lists is being conducted starting from 1st January 2024. During this period, claims and objections will be received from 27th October 2023 to 9th December 2023. Special campaign dates on `the 4th and 5th of November and the 2nd and 3rd of December 2023 (Saturdays and Sundays) have been determined. On these special dates, all Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be present at their respective polling stations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to receive forms.
Sushil Sarwan explained that after resolving claims and objections by 26th December, the final voter list will be published on 5th January 2024. He further added that anyone whose age will be 18 years or older on 1st January 2024 can fill out Form 6 and submit it to the respective BLO or the district election office. Additionally, Form 6A is for linking Aadhar with the voter card, Form 7 for getting your vote cast, and Form 8 for corrections in the voter list can be submitted. All these activities can also be done online.
