A disturbing incident occurred at the Ghamroj toll booth where a 30-year-old driver was subjected to a brutal assault by three individuals in a tailing car. The altercation began when the victim’s car inadvertently brushed past a Maruti Suzuki Ignis, prompting an argument between the parties involved.
According to the police report, the victim, identified as Satish, was en route to the IGI airport when he encountered an issue with the FastTag sensor at the toll booth. Following instructions from the toll booth staff to reverse his vehicle and attempt another read, Satish’s car made slight contact with the vehicle behind him while maneuvering.
The occupants of the tailing car reacted aggressively, honking and demanding that Satish move forward. Subsequently, they exited their vehicle, physically assaulted Satish, and damaged the door handle on the driver’s side. Satish described the assailants as appearing intoxicated and recounted being verbally abused, grabbed by the collar, punched, and kicked before managing to seek refuge inside his car. Despite his attempts to escape, the attackers persisted and ultimately broke the door handle.
Following the assault, the perpetrators fled the scene in the direction of Gurgaon. Law enforcement has taken swift action, registering a case against the trio under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation, common intention, and mischief causing damage to property.
