Vikas Verma caught illegally running telephone exchange in Sonipat

Vikas Verma alias Vikas Mohammed, who was caught illegally running a telephone exchange in Sonipat, Haryana, is once again on the target of intelligence agencies. Earlier in December 2020, he was arrested from Delhi Airport with the help of Interpol. A case of treason has been registered against him. He has studied only till 12th class, but he has good knowledge of information related to computer and telephone exchange. He has worked in a company related to this.
After coming out of jail on bail, he again started illegal telephone business. The only difference is that earlier his residence was Sector-10 Vardhman Gardenia Apartment, which now he has been arrested from Supermax Society. He was doing illegal work here for about 2 months. He will be produced in court today and taken on police remand.
Vikas Verma is originally a resident of Bhainswal village of Sonipat. In June 2020, he came on the radar of intelligence agencies, but before he could be caught, he fled to Pakistan via Dubai. He has been associated with terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu’s banned organization Sikh for Justice (SFJ). After absconding, he changed his religion from Vikas Verma to Vikas Mohammad. He married Pakistani girl Mahamamir. His wife currently lives in Pakistan.
He was arrested on Monday from a flat in Supermax Society located in Sector-33 in a joint raid by CM Flying and Telecom Department officials. For a long time, he used to deliver anti-India mobile calls coming from Pakistan, Dubai and Canada to the people in the country.
For this he used Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS). He had setup an illegal telephone exchange in the flat. A machine, laptop, two setup boxes, 38 SIMs and 36 different SIM cards installed in them have been recovered from here. Through these he used to route international calls and divert them to local calls.
Even in the year 2020, Vikas Verma has been involved in anti-national activities. Not only was he an active member of SFJ, he was also in contact with Pakistani girl Mahamamir on social media. Both of them became friends. He used to share a lot of information with him. When the intelligence agencies came to know about this, he went to Mahamamir in Karachi in Pakistan via Dubai.
There he changed his religion and married her. When he reached Delhi on 22 December 2020 via Karachi via Sharjah, he was arrested at Indira Gandhi Airport with the help of Interpol. A case of treason was registered against him.
It was then revealed that he had been engaged in anti-national work by joining a terrorist organization since 2018.
Vikas Verma alias Vikas Mohammed has been caught running an illegal telephone exchange. Vikas gained experience of working in a company and then set up his own separate setup in Sonipat. At present he was working in Sonipat for 2 months. CM Flying and other agencies are investigating how many international calls he used to route and divert to local every day.
How much money did he get for this work? The people in which countries he was in contact with are also being investigated. There is a possibility that he has compromised the security of the country by collaborating with an enemy country like Pakistan.
