Vijayawada: 3-day Shakambari Festival begins at Kanaka Durga temple

On Saturday, the three-day Shakambari Festival began at the Kanaka Durga temple in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. The event honors Goddess Shakambari Devi.

Goddess Kanaka Durga is decked and worshipped as Shakambari Devi during the festival. Kanaka Durga is decked with vegetables and fruits and is subjected to elaborate pujas.

The Ammavari Sakambari Devi Festival was inaugurated by Temple Trust Board Chairman Karnati Rambabu couple, Temple Executive Officer Darbhamulla Bhramaramba, and Trust Board members.

Goddess Kanaka Durga was decorated with various fruits and vegetables on the first day of the Shakambari Devi Festival, and the temple was illuminated for the occasion.
Kanaka Durga Devi will come to devotees in the avatar of Shakambari Devi for three days.
