Under the direction of leader of the Opposition Yashpal Arya, a delegation of Bajpur sugar mill employees and representatives of farmers met Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. In addition to submitting a memo in this regard, Yashpal Arya asked the Chief Minister not to provide Aswani, a subsidiary unit of Bajpur Sugar Mill, on a lease rent or public-private partnership (PPP) manner. According to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, every factor pertaining to the interests of the farmers will be taken into consideration before handing over the subsidiary unit of Bajpur Sugar Mill to Aswani on a lease, rent, or PPP basis. After a thorough assessment, further action will be taken.
The government, according to the chief minister, is always working to raise farmers’ incomes. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami added that decisions are being made with the interests of farmers in mind at all times.
