Urgent police reforms are needed: Justice Lokur

Former Supreme Court judge Justice Madan Lokur said on Tuesday that urgent police reforms are needed in the county. He was delivering The IPF Foundation Day Lecture 2020, organised by Indian Police Foundation, on how “Reforms in Police and Criminal Justice are crucial to safeguard the democratic rights of citizens’. This online event was also attended by former BSF and UP Police chief Prakash Singh, who is the chairman of Indian Police Foundation.

 Justice Lokur asked why the recommendations made by the National Police Commission have been kept on shelves for so long.
