Three persons, including a woman, were killed while three others were injured after being struck by lightning in separate incidents in Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri district, officials said on Sunday.
Officials said that the incidents of lightning occurred on Saturday. “Three persons including a woman were killed, and three others were injured in the incidents. The injured are undergoing treatment,” Ramji Mishra, Additional District Magistrate, Mainpuri exclaimed.
He further stated that each of the deceased’s kin would receive an ex-gratia payment of Rs. 4 lakh. Earlier on Tuesday, lightning struck the Azamgarh district of the state, killing six people and injuring one child. Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister, expressed sorrow over the fatalities brought on by lightning strikes in the districts of Azamgarh and Ghazipur.
