UNION MINISTER FLAGS OFF WORLD RECORD EXPEDITION TEAM OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr Virendra Kumar flagged off the world record expedition team of people with disabilities to Siachen Glacier from Dr Ambedkar International Centre on Sunday.

On the occasion of Independence Day, Dr Kumar unfurled the national flag this morning in the presence of the Minister of State Pratima Bhowmik, Upma Srivastava (Member Secretary, DAF), and Vikas Trivedi (Director, DAIC) at Dr Ambedkar International Centre, 15 Janpath, a premier autonomous research body mandated to research and provide policy feed to empower marginalised communities and to bring in socio-economic transformation in the society.

It was followed by a series of events organised by DAIC saluting the tricolour, the Cabinet Minister flagged off the vehicle convoy carrying the Divyanjan Siachen Glacier expedition team from Dr Ambedkar International Centre. The program was very well organised by Vikas Trivedi, Director DAIC in coordination with various government and NGOs

DAIC under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is supporting the world record expedition of people with disabilities to Siachen Glacier, as part of its commitment towards the cause and betterment of Divyanjaan citizens of our country.
