The United Kingdom is holding its general election today, with polling stations open from 7 am to 10 pm (0600-2100 GMT). An exit poll, set to be released at 10 pm after voting concludes, will offer the first indication of the results, with detailed outcomes expected early Friday. Opinion polls indicate that the centre-left Labour Party is poised for a historic victory, potentially ending 14 years of Conservative rule and placing  Starmer in the prime minister’s office at 10 Downing Street by Friday morning.
