UDH minister signs MoUs worth Rs 76,400 crores at the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ pre-summit

The Urban Development Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra signed new investment MoUs worth more than Rs 76,400 crores with more than 400 investors at the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ urban area pre-summit at Hotel ITC Rajputana on Monday. These MoUs were signed in the presence of Jhabar Singh Kharra and Rajasthan Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant. Rajasthan is the most suitable and promising state in the country in terms of investment.
Addressing the pre-investment summit, Kharra said that the government is aiming to double the size of Rajasthan’s economy from the current $180 billion to $350 billion in the next five years.
He said that about 26% of Rajasthan’s population lives in urban areas and all the districts of Rajasthan are important economic centres which are going to boost the state’s economy. Therefore, rejuvenation and strengthening of urban infrastructure, promotion of public transport like buses and metro and encouraging projects in affordable housing are the major priorities of the government.

Metro extension to Ambabari and Dravyavati project

Speaking about speeding up the Metro and Dravyavati project, Kharra said that for the first time it has been considered to extend the metro from Sitapura to Ambabari Industrial Area. Efforts are being made to reach an agreement so that this work is done in PPP mode.
Talks of partnership with the Government of India have been done and very soon this project will be seen coming on the ground. At the same time, regarding the Dravyavati river, Kharra said that efforts are being made to complete the work according to the concept with which the Dravyavati project was prepared in the coming time.
He said that wildlife, historical places and religious tourism are continuously increasing in Rajasthan. This is the reason why investors have been invited to come for Rising Rajasthan.

Local bodies will have to be trusted: Sudhansh Pant

Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant said that the government will provide facilities to investors for the Rising Rajasthan Summit. Regarding Bhiwadi, he said, “Why can’t Bhiwadi be like Gurugram? There is no space left in Gurugram now, that Bhiwadi can take its place. Bhiwadi will develop more rapidly in the coming time.”
During this, advocating increasing the power of the local body, he said that UDH is giving permission for a building of 40 meters height. Whereas as soon as it reaches 41 meters, that file comes to the government. Changes will have to be made and trust will have to be placed on the local body.
