The United Kingdom has honoured 75 Indian students and alumni for excellence in education, professional achievement and making immense contribution to society, to mark 75 years of India’s independence.
The event, celebrating India @ 75 in association with UK Parliament, was organised by the National Indian Students and Alumni Union (NISAU) UK in partnership with the British Council in India, the UK Government Department for International Trade (DIT) and UK Parliament.
The India UK Achievers Honours were created to celebrate the achievements of Indian students who studied at British universities and to mark 75 years of India’s independence. The honours covered 75 high achievers and five Outstanding Achievers.
Dr. Megha Bhargava and Dr. Ruma Bhargava have been awarded the India UK Achievers Honours by NISAU UK (National Indian Students and Alumni Union UK) and the British Council to recognise and celebrate the work of 75 young achievers who have studied in the UK.
Dr. Megha Bhargava is an IRS officer and posted as Dy. Commissioner IT at Mumbai.
Dr. Ruma Bhargava is Lead (Health) with World Economic Forum in India.
Both sisters have founded an NGO – Samarpan that works for the eduction in rural parts of india.
