According to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Assam government will introduce a new program to give young people financial aid of Rs 2 lakh apiece for their own self-employment. ‘The CM further stated that registration under the “Mukhya Mantri Atmanirbhar Asom” scheme would begin on September 23 and 24.
On Wednesday, Sarma held a video conference with the Chief Secretary and other top officials from the conference room of Assam House in New Delhi to make this announcement. The officials claimed that before the meeting approved the plan, it’s specifics were discussed.
According to a release from the CMO, “The Chief Minister later told mediapersons that the new scheme would provide financial assistance for up to Rs 2 lakh each to two lakh youth in order to make them self-independent.”
Pabitra Margherita, a Rajya Sabha member, Additional Chief Secretary for Home and Political Affairs Ravi Kota, and Resident Commissioner MS Manivannan were present for the nearly 40-minute meeting.
