The atmosphere became tense in front of the workshop located on Batala Road from Kahanuwan Chowk in Gurdaspur when a group of people who had come to resign after taking leave from the army were fired upon. After firing, the attackers fled from the spot. Police personnel have also recovered three bullet shells.
Soldier Hardeep Singh brother Harjinder Singh and father Lakhwinder Singh told them that their son Lovepreet Singh has an old enmity. Due to this rivalry, today he and his colleagues came out of the workshop and first abused him, then fired five rounds. His son saved his life by running away from there. After firing, constable Lovepreet fled from the spot along with his comrades. He has demanded that legal action be taken against these attackers.
On the other hand, Darshan Singh, the father of soldier Lovepreet Singh, said that his son had not fired the bullet. It was Hardeep Singh who was threatening and provoking him by telling him that he had come on leave and would kill him. When he went to talk to Hardev Singh, he started abusing him, and Hardev Singh opened fire. He said that there was an old mutual enmity between the two. His son did not have any weapons of any kind.
DSP Sukhpal Singh, who reached the spot, said that both of these groups had clashed with each other on Batala Road due to old enmity, and both are armyemployees. I am currently on leave. Hardev Singh has a tractor workshop on Batala Road. When he came to his workshop after some time, Lovepreet Singh, a constable of the service who was on leave due to some old enmity, along with his colleagues, attacked him and fired five rounds at him. DSP said that three shells have been recovered from the spot, and there was no loss of life in this incident. The case has been registered.
